The Lowlands was once home to a family owned metal manufacturing business built in 1929 by W.J. Haas Manufacturing. With the proximity to downtown, their custom metal work can be found all over the city, and helped craft the architecture we see in Saint Paul today. After their departure in 2017, current ownership stepped in with the dream of bringing life back into the building while keeping the integrity and celebrating its history. During the repurposing project, the original limestone in the lower level was rehabbed-- a nod to the prohibition era-- the coal storage room was transformed into a lush terrarium, and the original white brick shines a little brighter today.

Who we were

Today, The Lowlands is a stunning, repurposed industrial building that hosts a wide variety of specialty events. Featuring elegant curved shapes, soft finishes, artful lighting, and thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces. Our two levels have expansive windows that allow ample natural light to flow through the space. As night falls, the lower level bar, which we call The Ladyslipper Lounge, is transformed and lit by a glowing indoor terrarium. Since 2023, we have strived to create memorable moments and look forward to bringing your event to life
